Beach towers are meeting places.
Life savers. Icons.
They stand guard over the beautiful beaches of Southern California and are one of the most memorable sights along the beach. For some, it’s a symbol of safety. For others, it’s a popular landmark for meeting friends for the day. And for others, it’s a prime location to set up a volleyball game or a picnic.
We love the beach towers — and we wanted to share all the good vibes we get from them. So we created Beach Towers — the Socal apparel company. In every piece of high-quality beach-themed clothing we make, we’re sharing the fun of a day at the beach, with a family-friendly feel that offers something great for everyone.
Why we started it.
Born and raised in Michigan, when we moved to California to raise our young family, we fell in love with the beach. It’s our place to be on a special Saturday, a lazy Sunday, and a quick weekday escape. While we’re there, we want the clothes we wear to look and feel as perfect as the sand on our toes. And when we’re at work or out on the town, they feel just as nice, and look just as perfect.

There are over 158 lifeguard towers that were built during the late 1960s when beach attendance was at an all-time high. These beach towers haven’t changed much over the past few decades. Anyone who’s visited a local beach(or seen them on tv) is familiar with the iconic blue structures that line the city’s coastline.
These towers are often the lifeline for our beaches — with over 12,000 ocean rescues every year.
